There are many reasons couples seek therapy. Some couples wait until both parties are so unhappy they feel that therapy is the last chance to salvage their relationship. Other couples know that their relationship may be in trouble so they seek assistance to discuss their issues in a place where both parties can be heard without judgement. Some couples seek therapy as a preventative measure to keep healthy lines of communication open, and learn additional methods to express their thoughts and feelings. Just as people are constantly changing, so are relationships. Sometimes couples need to learn skills to “change together”. These are just a few examples, but in general, couples face a variety of ups and downs even in the healthiest of relationships. I provide a safe place where couples can openly assess their strengths and weaknesses and learn communication skills.
